PVA EXPO PRAGUE hosted the key meeting of the Taxík Maxík project
24. April 2025On 23rd of April, the PVA Expo Prague Exhibition Centre had the honour of becoming the venue for the umpteenth meeting of representatives of cities and organisations involved in the Taxík Maxík social transport project. This inspiring project, which has been helping the elderly and people with disabilities for nine years, is now about to enter a new phase - and our premises have witnessed the announcement of major news.
The cooperation between the Charter 77 Foundation, its Konto Bariéry and SenSen programmes, and the company ČESKÁ LÉKÁRNA HOLDING, a.s. (operator of Dr.Max pharmacies), which is the exclusive sponsor of the project, has brought the service to 29 cities in the Czech Republic during its operation. Our exhibition centre welcomed about sixty participants - mayors, operators, coordinators and representatives of social services - who came to share experiences and hear news about the future direction of the project.
In the presence of Jolana Voldánová, Director of the Charter 77 Foundation, and Jan Žák, CEO of the Dr.Max pharmacy chain, it was announced that the project will expand to three more locations from 2026. At the same time, the existing operators will be able to receive a grant of CZK 400,000 for the renewal of the service - for two selected operators per year.
As partners of this important meeting, we greatly appreciate the fact that our premises could provide the venue for the discussion of such a socially important project. The discussions revealed that Taxík Maxík are not only a means of transport, but also a tool to improve the quality of life - they help to prevent social isolation, early detection of health complications and enable an active life even in old age.
We believe that such meetings help to move the Czech social sphere forward - and we look forward to further cooperation.
